Rally Contrast

I am stunned by recent videos of McCain supporters.

After I attended– or tried to attend– an Obama rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, a few weeks ago, I wrote here about how peaceful the people were. We didn’t get in because the venue was full. News reports estimated 20,000 made it in and as many people continued to stand outside, in a quiet line, to show their support. We didn’t arrive late, we arrived more than two hours early and the lot of us stood in line for about two and a half hours– after hiking for half an hour just to find the end of the line.

So, with that experience in mind, I am heart-sick after watching the following two videos. Not only am I heart-sick, I am concerned that violence is on the way– and I’m not the only one: Bipartisan Concern About the Dangers of McPalin’s Hate-Mongering.

McCain Rally Participants in Pennsylvania:

This is disturbing footage. I am very concerned about our country. I am, however, hopeful that people will find time to seek the facts they lack, possess the critical thinking skills to process them and that the McCain-Palin campaign will stop stirring hatred and ignorance into their crowds.
