Debate Poppycock

There are crappy journalists in our world and there are excellent journalists in our world. Gwen Ifill is one of the best journalists there is and she is, hands down, the best choice for the Vice Presidential debate– a debate she also moderated in 2004.

PBS’ Ifill dismisses questions of partisanship

The nonsense that conservative talking heads shoveled about her today was intended to do one thing: put question marks in the minds of their right-wing, easily led followers who fear that their candidate will make a complete ass out of herself for a full hour and a half on live T.V. beginning Thursday night at 9 p.m. EST.

Wait to see Ifill’s performance before judging her, would you? If she slants the debate, one way or another, then, by all means, call another debate– or two– to right the situation. What you will find instead, however, is a professional who knows her duty as an impartial moderator.
