Fox News: do not trust them, or any other News Corp. outlet

Fox News is a joke in the journalism world– one of those scary, mean jokes people continue to tell even when they know it’s wrong to do so.

Here is the Fox News branch on the family tree: Fox News is owned by News Corporation, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch– who is the Anti-Christ.

Why is Fox News, and News Corp, so bad?

Well, dear reader…

They twist facts, make up facts, ignore facts, insert their opinion where it doesn’t belong (i.e. the news), are politically hostile, suggest they have sources when they don’t (“Everyone is saying…”), they are mean spirited, vindictive, juvenile, spin news for the (W) Bush White House… I’ll stop here because I simply do not have the time to list all of their journalistic sins.

Think of the news organization in the movie V for Vendetta then wrap it in an American Flag– that’s Fox News and Murdoch is the diabolical ruler.

Bottom line: Murdoch instructs his companies, including Fox News, to bastardize the news and piss on journalistic ethics in every way imaginable.

Today they are in the news for altering photographs of two New York Times reporters (enlarging their ears and yellowing their teeth, among other things), making up a story about them and even pasting one of their faces on the body of a dog.

And, before you think this is some kind of I-got-you game (wink, nudge ‘ol pal)– this isn’t the first time Fox News has belittled former employees (see the required viewing section below).

No. Do not trust Fox News, or any other News Corporation newsroom.

I am not suggesting we should ignore Fox News– by all means, check in and see what they are up to; watching Bill O’Reilly inch toward an on-air stroke as he yells at his guests to “shut up” is entertaining, if nothing else.

Fair and balanced– please. Blatant propaganda is more like it; Fox News is a conservative whore, twisting up the news in very unfair ways to tilt opinion in the manner Murdoch wants it tilted.

I hate it how they insert their own opinion in things, because it can really be mean and insulting. Once I was watching and they were reporting how a pet shop was burnt down and only one turtle survived it. So the owner asked for someone to buy it and take care of it because he can’t handle it with the burnt down pet shop and all. After they reported that, the reporters were like, “I would never buy that turtle. Who would?”
*hesterical laughter* In short, I agree :)
