Good Editor Day
… hopefully it’s not the first.
Many good things happened yesterday, writing wise.
For one: THERE’S A CONTRACT on the way. (Hell, yeah.)
Second: I was finally assigned an article with a local weekly newspaper after sitting through three incredibly boring town hall meetings looking for a story.
Third: The editor of my school paper, responding to my text message “copy editors suck,” called and promised to send me the edited version of my next opinion piece– which he did. Of course, there were errors but at least we were able to fix them before the paper went to print.
Fourth: I was reminded that I’m, essentially, trying out to be the Viewpoint editor for my school’s paper next school year and there is a chance I won’t have to put up with the nonsense I’ve endured from the copy editors over the past couple months.
Fifth: I’ve met another local editor that asked to see my resume. I’ve sent it and am hopeful. (Hope is always good.)
I like good editor days.
